HiyaI;m 17 (I turn 18 in December) and I finish school this summer and I;m going travelling in Australasia and Asia with a friend for a year out before uni. I;m having difficulties finding insurance companies that provide the kind of travel insurance I want (there;s plenty for single trips but very little for Gap year or Backpacker) and I was wondering if anyone else was ever in a similar situation and if you found anything? Thanks

How do I get my money back for a cancelled holiday?!?
I booked a family holiday but a week before we were all due to go one of the kids fell seriously ill and we were all unable to go. Half of us had an annual travel insurance so were able to claim our money back but the parents of the kid didn;t inform the insurance company of the ;pre-existing medical conditions; so they refuse to pay out.Anyway our travel agent refuses to help us, surely they can give us our money back as we didn;t even travel on the holiday? They say they can;t do anything as it was a week before we were due to go. Please help, what can we do?!!I understand we will get nowhere with the insurance co. but is it worth trying to get my money back from the travel agent? They have done nothing to help us..
Advantages and disdvantages of using a travel agent to chose holiday insurance?
Advantages are very few. Travel agents earn massive, and I mean massive (50 to 75%) commission. This means that they are not a selling you the best deal. You should always decline their offer and go to three or four different comparison sites for a quote. But do not take the cheapest, make sure you get one with baggge, medical expenses, legal expenses and airline failure cover.
Me and my mom want to kill ourselves?
I want to travel back in time because i got into a car accident. I was on my way to Mcdonalds to get food. I was focusing on driving I went to a stop sign. I looked both ways and no ones was coming, then I went but before I knew it, this red car came out of no where and hit me. the front bumper of there car fell off and it was soo messed up but my car didnt have any damage, but my whole body was tingling and my neck hurt. I got taken away in an ambulance because my neck could have been broken. My car was fine but I wasn;t. I now have a headache and i;m all sore. they claim its my fault because i was supposed to yeild to them but i did yeild, i stopped, looked both ways and then they were there out of no where. I was turning to slow and they had their radio cranked. I know it wasnt my fault but the law says its my fault. Now I have to pay 500 dollars. I have no money. only enough for food and rent. im only 18. now im gonna starve for a few months. please tell me someone will let me borrow a time machine. This should of not happened!!! help me please. me and my mom want to kill ourselves. insurance is to expensive. car payments are to expensive, but MANAGEABLE TO THE EXTENT I DONT STARVE BUT NOW I REALLY AM GONNA STARVE AND loose weight. im 110 and im losing weight as we speak. now have the accident to pay for…or i might just get sued by the people who got damage to their car. ready to commit suicide…
Trade in 2009 RAV4 for 2012? Dealer Buyback?
I currently am driving a 2009 RAV4, Certified Pre-Owned at 2.90%, 61K miles and have about $14K on the car note for the next 4 years. I have been driving it for a year, and I have the 7yr/100K mile warranty on the car. I received a notice in the mail that the local dealer is "willing" to buyback my car at 120% Kelly Blue Book value (conservative guess at their offer is $16K, maybe more) and then I can get into a new 2012 RAV4 at 0.9% interest for 5 years, MSRP $24K.I got my current RAV4 with 38K miles on it, and I put 20K miles on it the first year. My intent was to live happily ever after with my 2009 RAV4 and drive it to the ground, but the pros are far outweighing the numbers I;ve been crunching. I know the new RAV4 would depreciate horribly for the first few years, but it seems like with the financing offer I can live with incurring the new costs of tax/title/registration. Insurance would be increased by like a dollar a month.Oh, and furthermore, I;m a reservist and of the $20K put on, about 6000 of the miles have been for reserve duty. I know the mileage travelled is tax-deductible, etc. The way how I;m kind of seeing this (provided the dealer gives me a fair enough trade value) is that essentially I leased my old car for a year, and I can get a much better rate on a newer car that I can THEN drive to the ground. Ultimately, do I need a new car? No. And I can walk away from the dealer. But if the stars align correctly…well. ; ) The only thought in the back of my head is the 7yr/100K mile warranty. I want to extend the warranty out as far as possible, but with my rate of driving, looks like the 100K will come way before the 7yr mark. Thoughts/experiences/input is greatly appreciated.
