I;ve been looking at some used cars, and I found a few approved used Honda civic hybrids in my area, with good mileage etc (the second gen ones), and I was just wondering if this was a good first car?I just need the car for some light travelling (getting around university and stuff – there isn;t a good public transport system there), so how much would my insurance cost? Bearing in mind that I;m female, 21 and I;ve had a couple of years of driving experience without any accidents. I;ve done the pass plus and all that as well. Will my premium be lower because it;s a hybrid car?Thank you!

I was on the express way and I was travelling at about the speed limit (70 mph). I was passing a semi-truck, and was almost all the way past him when he decided to merge over, and clipped my back end, causing me to loose control and rolled my car four times and hit the trees on the side of the express way. My car landed upside down and I had to unbuckle my seat belt and fell to the ceiling. I had two other people in the car with me. The surprising part was that all three of us were completely unharmed, my friend had a small gash in his head, but it didn;t even require stitches. The truck driver didn;t stop until a mile or two down the road (Although I;m not sure how long it takes to stop a semi-truck) and he never checked to see if anyone was hurt. I never even saw him. My car was totaled and I had to sign over my car to the towing company just to pay for the towing bill. I had to miss a few days of work, and was without a car for 3 months. I live in Michigan, which has no-fault insurance, but the semi was from Wisconsin, which does not. This accident was nearly a year ago. Since then I have had nightmares 2 to 3 times a month of me crashing my car in various ways and I get tense every time I drive next to a semi truck. Would I have a case against him? Or maybe the company he works for?
