Yesterday my father was involved in a car accident. The lady that hit him had a passanger, wich later was told by a person that overhead a comment that the passanger was an off-duty cop. The passanger was totally drunk and couldn;t really tell if the driver was since she never got out of the car. The passanger did all the talking. And my dad was rarely asked any questions. The other car ran a red light hitting my dad but still my dad was labeled as the "at-fault". The police report doesn;t provide any information concerning any declarations made by the people involved, just my dad as the "at-fault". Now the insurance company is what;s left, the other lady hasn;t even contacted her insurance wich my dad did first thing today since yesterday it was closed. How is being labeled the at fault driver can affect him if the police report doesn;t really show how the crash happened or that anyone was even interviewed? Or that a breath test wasn;t even taken to determined if there was alcohol involved?I forgot to mention this happened in Chicago Illinois
